Edition 30: I disappeared 🫥

Lets talk :)

Hey Folks,

You’re getting this email because you signed up for my MusingsOnAI long back!!!.

A lot has changed since I last emailed you… Ambani got married at last, England lost the game and Prompt Engineering is not a hot topic anymore and I rode a couple of thousand kilometres on my motorcycle.

If you’ve changed your mind during that time and no longer want to receive emails from me about the hot news about LLM and Agents - you can unsubscribe. No hard feelings 🥺

Still here? Okay, let’s answer the question that you’re probably wondering:

What the f*ck happened to you, Raahul?

It’s been a couple of months since I published the last edition, I’ve gotten SO MANY messages from people asking me where I’ve been. Honestly, it’s been a bit overwhelming. At some point it’s like, jeez guys give me some space to breathe.

Okay, this was my expectation - that didn’t happen.

I only got a single email from a student in the USA who wanted to interview me for his research project.

Then whats the reality?

We tried to build a product on healthcare. The team was solid and we were building a great product on search. Sometimes the performance was better than perplexity. However, we have not yet identified the ideal market fit in the rapidly evolving AI industry. What should our next goal be? How can we remain competitive when GPT-5 and other advanced models are introduced? We couldn't answer it. That's why we decided to wrap it.

Last few days - I stopped down my Mac, and closed down all the terminals on the wrap, scrolling limitless Instagram reels. I was forcing myself to push on.

I was chasing the feeling I had in the beginning. Like in 2009 when I wrote the first line of code.

I wanted to feel that magic mix of motivation, excitement, and nervous energy again (with maybe a small dose of anxiety thrown in).

We built fast - we failed fast.

But I've learned so much over the past few months as a developer, a leader, a husband, and a meat-covered homo sapiens.

And for the first time in a while, I’m beginning to feel to write it down again. Let's begin it again ✨

There is a quote on Bhagavad Gita "परिवर्तन ब्रह्मांड का कानून है"(Change is the law of the universe).

P.S. How are you? I want to know where you’re at. I don’t care if you're a creator, writer, or that student who wants to interview me for a research project, hit reply to this email and tell me the one thing you’re struggling with most right now in this LLM field.
